Job Description
Pilot Ventures is seeking a part-time, temporary bookkeeper to support the Controller to oversee a portfolio of RV Resorts managed by the company.
This is a part-time temporary position, expected to last until the end of October. It is a mostly remote position with a flexible schedule of ~10 hours per week. Duties & Responsibilities Bookkeeping for three RV Resorts with a focus on AP and reconciliation, including but not limited to:
- AP: enter invoices for payment, digitize and file payables and statements (electronic and hard copies), and cut checks as needed
- Record credit card and cash deposits
- Reconcile receipts with revenue per Reservation system and calculate monthly Excise Taxes due
- Reconcile debit card expense transactions
- Month-end reconciliation and close
- Prepare financial statements
- Contact vendors for missing/incomplete invoicing
- Obtain W-9s for all vendors and prepare year-end 1099s and other tax and regulatory filings as-needed
- Assist Controller with preparation of external reports/documents for lenders/auditors, and special projects
Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a good communicator, and adaptable. Beyond that, we are seeking:
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational skills to maintain efficiency standards
- Ability to address discrepancies and implement corrective processes
- Ability to work well with a remote/hybrid team, as well as independently with limited supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Maintain a flexible attitude and approach toward a variety of assignments
- Accept constructive criticism and give appropriate feedback
- High School diploma required, higher education or at least 2 years bookkeeping experience preferred
- Computer literacy with ability to use Microsoft Office 365 apps and bookkeeping software
- Must have experience working in QuickBooks Online accounting software
- Familiarity with Expensify (or similar expense apps) is preferred
- Experience within the hospitality industry is a plus
Compensation & Benefits - Wage: $27-29/hour
- Sick Time, per Seattle’s Paid Sick & Safe Time (PSST) Ordinance
Additional Information - Duration : This is a temporary contract position, expected to end by October 31, 2024.
- Schedule : This is a part-time position (10 hours/week) with a flexible schedule. At least partial availability during business hours is preferred.
- Location : This position is expected to be mostly remote, but Employee must be able to visit the Seattle office during business hours for onboarding at the start of the contract, and ideally be available for occasional training or support needs. Employee may also work from the company office, if desired (business hours only).
- Technology : The company shall issue a PC laptop with all necessary apps for use during employment. Employee may not use personal devices to access work materials. Employee must have a reliable, secure internet connection at home, capable of supporting regular access and video calls.
