Omaha Track is seeking to fill an immediate Full-Time opportunity for an EHS Compliance Generalist to join our growing organization on-site based in Omaha, NE. The EHS Compliance Generalist is responsible for coordinating, documenting, and auditing the comprehensive occupational safety and health protection management systems and policies to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment in accordance with the corporate policies and all federal, state and local regulations. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating working partnerships across the organization that promotes a positive, proactive approach to ensuring worker health and safety.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Provide administration and maintenance on variety of spreadsheets and reports tracking compliance/safety, DOT (FRA-FMCSA), local, state, and federal regulatory training and compliance
- Help maintain all DOT (FRA-FMCSA), OSHA records and reports required by federal, state and local regulations; ensure safety and driver qualification files are complete and updated as required by rules and regulations
- Administer the DOT FMCSA driver compliance process:
- Responsible for initial driver qualification electronic file set-up for all new hires and new CDL drivers
- Audit and maintain all driver files to ensure any inaccurate, expiring, or missing items are addressed
- Review and Monitor hours of service (HOS) for required employees in safety sensitive roles, and maintain logs on file per DOT requirements
- Review daily driver’s logs to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Perform audits to ensure compliance with all hours-of-service regulations and any HOS violations (documenting HOS violation with corrective action),
- Complete the annual violation of record reviews for all DOT regulated drivers
- Serve as system administrator for Omaha Track’s account on the TSCI Comply software
- Conduct quarterly audits on required documents and miscellaneous government-related paperwork and reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules and safety requirements
- Maintain the authorized company driver list and conduct the annual violations review process
- Serve as the safety material inventory coordinator; package and ship materials as needed
- Maintains all third-party vendor accounts (i.e., SiteDocs, e-RailSafe, BNSF, Safety U (LMS), etc.)
- Assist with all drug and alcohol testing programs, administration, testing, and recordkeeping meeting all requirements of the FMCSA, FRA, and internal Omaha Track policies
- Assist as a trainer for all compliance/safety training as needed for new hires and annual renewal training
- Assist with aspects of all reported incidents and investigations, including timely claim reporting, collection of all documentation, and create and maintain electronic incident files
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree (Business, Human Resources, or related field) preferred; equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 3 years working with FRA, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance
- Minimum of 3 years of transportation, logistics or safety management experience
- Certifications in safety and compliance are preferred
- Clean criminal background and valid driver’s license with no major driving offenses within the last three years
- Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory, FRA, FMCSA, and OSHA safety compliance
- Knowledge of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, think critically, and make good decisions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize appropriately and successfully manage multiple projects through completion
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high attention to detail and work well with others as a team membe

- Strong aptitude with technology including the ability to operate a computer with a high level of competence and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
